2020-2021 report cards - update
Here is the link to send things to Tracy Habisch-Ahlin for the website and social media: Share Your Stories  
Background Checks:
  1. One option: He can complete the online background check form. He just needs to go to Family Access, select Online Forms, and select  Background Check Authorization to fill out the form. Staff can let me know if he did this so I can pull it up by student name in Skyward and do the background check.
  2. Second option: He can complete a paper copy and come to ASC and give the form to Amanda or Hollie in Human Resources.
  3. Third option- He can email the completed background check form to me or Hollie Thorston in HR.
  4. Fourth option- he can fill out a paper background check form and send it with his child to school, but not fill in his social security number. We can call and ask him over the phone for his social security number if he's more comfortable with that.

Field Trip Requests
  • Teachers will ONLY need to fill out this form: Houlton Elementary Field Trip Request Form
  • Suzie will request the bus using the information gathered in the form.  
  • An email will automatically be sent to the Health Office, Kitchen and Specialists with the date and times that your class will be on a field trip.
  • Future efforts will be made to estimate the transportation cost AND cost per student, therefore giving us a better idea of what is left in the field trip budgets.

DnA/Illuminate Reports
Here is a Screencast reviewing the MAP reports available for teachers.  If you did not give Winter MAP, remember, you can access the interim assessment reports for 3-5 and F&P reports in DnA to study student progress over time.

Dear Grade 1 and 2 teachers,
This is a gentle reminder to review the first trimester ELA assessments as your team starts the planning process for November. Especially pay attention to the On-Demand-Writing requirements. For the informal F&P update, please note that you will see all of the same information that you entered in the formal window, but all you need to enter is the level. If you have additional information (accuracy percentage, comprehension scores, etc.) you can enter that too.
This information along with classroom data will assist you in determining fall trimester grades. 

Below you will find a link to the list of ELA assessments and links to assist you in both how to go into Illuminate and how to enter scores. Please touch base with Amy, Amanda, your coach, or me if you have any questions. Thank you.

Required Online Training:
Good morning!  State or federal law requires the following training for some or all school staff.  Specific requirements are described below.
  • Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect- Required of every school employee.

  • Mandatory Reporting of Threats of School Violence- Required of every school employee.

  • Trauma Sensitive Schools- Universal Level: Foundations (Modules 1-5) is required of all certified staff and regular/special education paraprofessionals.
    • For additional information, please click here
    • All questions regarding Trauma Sensitive Schools training should be directed to your building principal.
  • Bloodborne Pathogens-  All new staff, as well as those employees in work assignments which have been designated by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration as having a possible risk for exposure to bloodborne pathogens are required to complete bloodborne pathogens training.  The Hudson School District employee groups are: custodians, nurses, health assistants, school age caregivers, noon duty supervisors, nutrition services workers, special education paraprofessionals and special education teachers (including Early Childhood), coaches, physical education teachers, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists.

Training needs to be completed no later than January 4, 2019.  
When you have completed the training, please log into ERMA (Skyward Employee Access) and follow these steps:  

    1. Employee Information
    2. Personal Information
    3. Custom Forms (Left side of screen)
    4. Mandatory Reporting (then repeat for Trauma Sensitive Schools/Bloodborne Pathogens)
    5. Add (top right of page)
    6. Read Acknowledgment
    7. Enter Date, Position and click save (top of page)
