Staff and Team Norms

Explicit team norms help to increase the emotional intelligence of the group by cultivating trust, a sense of group identity, and belief in group efficacy (Druskat & Wolff, 2001).

Thank you for your input and reflection on our staff norms, and your work to build your own team norms.  I see these as the foundation for our collaborative work, as a staff and as teams.

Here's a link to our staff norms: Houlton Staff Norms.  May this be the guide for our work together this year.

Respect
  • Caring and Courageous Communication: We will interact in a manner that is trusting, comfortable and safe.
    • ALL voices heard
    • ALL actively listening
    • Presume positive intentions
    • Address your needs in conversations
    • Find a balance between listening to others’ and offering your own opinion
  • Open Mindedness: We will be open to trying new things and/or contribute strategies and ideas to promote student learning with a growth mindset.
    • Appreciate different perspectives
    • Be flexible in schedule and attitude
  • Professional: We will be the best version of ourselves regardless of the circumstance
    • Being respectful of time
    • Being prepared
    • Staying on task
    • Actively participating in collaboration
